Learn the times tables in English — with the rhythm of Japanese kuku.
Japanese children chant their multiplication tables until the words come out on their own. Chantables brings that same rhythm into English.
Why a chant?
Multiplication is not something you work out. It is something your mouth learns to say before your head catches up.
English usually says "Seven times eight equals fifty-six" — accurate, but far too long to become a rhythm. Chantables trims it down to "Seven-eight, FIFTY-SIX!", so it lands on the beat the way kuku does in Japanese.

And the most-played tracks are the 13 to 19 times tables. People who wanted to go past 12 were looking — and not finding much.

How to play — three steps to more friends
- Listen: finish a song and a character joins you Pick a table and sing it through to the end. When it finishes, a sea friend comes to life — it gains its colour and takes a place in your collection.
- Quiz: get them all right and earn a star Answer the true-or-false questions. A perfect round earns a star, and starred cards stand out in the collection at a glance.
- Beat: clear the rhythm challenge and…?
Answer faster than the song — and something comes up from the deep sea.
In your collection it shows only as "???". It is very rare, so we will let you find out for yourself.
Its frame goes from bronze to silver to gold, and it slowly begins to glow.
We wanted repetition to be worth something — not just a way to memorise.
Questions
What age is this for?
If a child can read numbers, they can use it. Understanding comes later — the sound comes first. That is how kuku works in Japan.
Does my child need to know English?
No. It may even help to start before the English makes sense, because that is closer to how kuku is learned. The interface can be switched between English and Japanese.
There is no sound
Chantables is made to play even in silent mode, so please check that the device volume is not turned down.
